New York,  July 19, 2022

LogiNext, the market leader in supply chain execution technology announced today that it was mentioned as a Sample Vendor in Gartner Hype Cycle for Supply Chain Execution Technologies 2022. “The 2022 Hype Cycle for supply chain execution (SCE) technologies covers technologies used to support logistics and fulfillment processes”. LogiNext has been mentioned as a Sample Vendor for Last-Mile Delivery Solutions.

The report says, “Supply chains are increasingly complex and chaotic yet only 22% of companies say they have an extremely clear digital supply chain vision, strategy and plan. Companies identify adapting to new technologies as one of the most important strategic challenges they will face over the next five years.”

Of the 26 technologies analyzed in the report, only 4 are climbing up the Slope of Enlightenment which is the phase in the Hype Cycle where these technologies are about to mature and find mainstream adoption. These 4 technologies are: Last-mile delivery solutions, Ring Scanner, Real Time Transportation Visibility Platforms and Warehouse Control Systems. LogiNext has found mention as one of the Sample Vendors for Last-mile delivery solutions.

“The pandemic has brought about an irreversible change in terms of user behavior. Customers want cheaper, better and faster deliveries and the trend is here to stay. As a result, more than 90% of enterprise brands we speak to have last mile delivery efficiency as a priority and we’re super excited about the space. We feel, this mention from Gartner only reinforces the trend we’re seeing and last-mile delivery technologies are very soon going to be a critical part of any mainstream supply chain conversation,” says Dhruvil Sanghvi, Chief Executive Officer, LogiNext. There are several drivers mentioned in this report for the rise in last-mile delivery technologies and a few are listed below:

According to this report, “Last-mile delivery solutions enable the execution of the delivery to consumers, providing real-time communication between routing applications and drivers/vehicles to track their activities and locations, and when necessary, to reroute them in transit while on the go”. There are several drivers for the rise in last-mile delivery technologies:

  • As demand for faster deliveries increases, last-mile delivery solutions need to account for ways to maximize fleet capacity and provide options to outsource transportation. Connection to courier carriers and local and hyper-local delivery carriers including riders or crowdsourced delivery services are becoming increasingly important.
  • Companies need to balance the trade-offs between optimal and feasible routes as businesses have become more dynamic and customers more demanding. Last-mile delivery solutions seek to enhance the delivery experience by also improving communication with the customer.
  • Sustainability capabilities are starting to be an intrinsic part of last-mile delivery solutions. Vendors are adding not only reporting and analytics on carbon emission, but also providing options to the users to add new services based on sustainable
choices like moving the freight with electric vehicles.

We believe, owing to these changes in user behavior and the way eCommerce has evolved, the importance of last-mile delivery solutions will only increase further as enterprises undergo digital transformation and use technology to improve operational efficiency.
